[Athletes hate mouthguards](https://blog.sisuguard.com/why-athletes-hate-wearing-mouthguards). Since their inception, the bulk, the drool and complete lack of comfort have made mouth guards the most dreaded pieces of protective equipment. Yet, mouthguard designs haven't changed much since the 1960's. Some companies expanded flavor lines and cool designs have emerged, but most mouthguard manufacturers are still using [the same materials and technology](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene-vinyl_acetate) as they did 60 years ago. SISU is made from a non-compressible, perforated material that doesn't cave in under impact like conventional mouthguards.
